Good Morning Farmgirls!

My name is Cate as some of you know. I am from Winneconne, Wisconsin which is fiftenn minutes north of Oshkosh. I just started my first canning project...pickles. Everything went well except some of the cucumber spears are above the liquid. They were all covered to begin with. Anyway, I decided to go to Fleet Farm and buy a small waterbath canner and just start with that. So all the pickles are in pint jars and they sure smelled good. The gardener that donated them to me also gave me the onions and the dill. Yumm.

I am the mother of five children. My firstborn is 20 years of age and he is stationed down at Fort Benning GA Army Base. He is an Airborne Ranger and has a wife and new baby girl. So I am now a 39 year old Grandma. (That is better than 36...which is what I did to my mom.) Anyway, the other four children are 13,12,11,9. So two boys and three girls. I have been married to my husband for fifteen years and we are about to move into our dream home on the Wolf River. Huge, five bedroom victorian with a boat dock and lift. Just a beautiful property. Plenty of room for the first time ever for all of us. Gorgeous kitchen for canning. It is museum quality with the grand staircase and fireplace. There is now a beautiful foyer for the Christmas tree. My kids are all so excited they are squealing with joy everytime I turn around. They have spent two years in one bedroom with two sets of bunk beds waiting for this moment. Well, I have gone on enough about me. Thank you all who gave me such a warm welcome on the kitchen board. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Love,
Cate

Hi Cate and welcome,
Your new home sounds just heavenly - I have friends that have a foyer and they get a 15 foot Christmas tree. It looks gorgeous and it is a hoot watching my friend hanging over the stair railing trying to hang ornaments!!
Look forward to chatting around the place,
Best wishes,
Jayne

Welcome Cate! I am sure that the smiles on your children's faces made your move all the more perfect. Your home sounds enchanting. I love the idea of a grand staircase. Have your kids tried to slide down the bannister yet!?
Glad you found us!!

Greetings, Cate! I love your chatroom name. And congratulations on your new dream home! A beautiful Victorian (love that style) AND on the water......no wonder your kids are squealing with delight, you probably are, too! I can just see a glorious Christmas tree all decked out... Have fun making lots of memories there, and welcome to a great bunch of gals. Nance
