Posted - Oct 08 2011 : 7:19:50 PM Hello, I am just now joining the forum. I admit that I have looked at the forums for a long time. I live on a 10 acre farm, located in Lane County, Oregon. I am a 50 something, retired, empty nester with a hunting fool hubby. We have a small herd (6) of Dexter Cattle. I am a farmgirl thru and thru. Please look at my blog to find out more about me. Next summer, I hope to be able to get a reservation at Mary Jane's B & B. Ranch Farmgirl, Sherry's blog is my favorite.

Posted - Nov 01 2011 : 7:51:14 PM Welcome Sharon. Your blog is so pretty. Reading about your junk store hoarder made me smile. We have the same type store in our small town, rarely open, completely filled two stories high, can barely move about and the one difference I have is when I find something, ask how much, I get "oh that's not for sale, I'm gonna put that in my house someday". This is from the wife, gotta catch the husband if you really want to buy anything. :) By the way, I love the bowl you found and at a very good price.

Posted - Oct 13 2011 : 8:05:21 PM HI Sharon and welcome from Long Island,NY! Well I guess from far away (like here on Long Island) it is safe to say that they elk are beautiful. I am sorry they are destroying your property. I can understand why you are "annoyed" with them! Have you tried ways of deterring them, like some people do with deer? Is there a deterrent for Elk? Good luck and welocme! Smiles,

Posted - Oct 09 2011 : 5:59:57 PM Hi Sharon and welcome to Mary Jane's. I visited your blog and just love it. Beautiful background and you write so well. I love the Brave Girl's site too and posted a story here awhile back that I found there which touched my heart. You probably know it..was about the husband who had the head injury and the harsh words said to him by a neighbor who put his foot in his mouth big time. Also your white pumpkins will be beautiful I'm sure. I found some unusual looking pumpkins this year in shades of green that I'm using and took a plain old orange one and painted it burgundy to match some of the paint colors on our house. When I'm all done decorating I'll try to post a pic. I make jewelry and have to say it is one of the most satisfying crafts I do. If you've a yearning to do it start small. Old jewelry, found objects, old game pieces can all be used to make jewelry. Whatever rocks your socks and makes you happy is a good thing. The idea is to let your creative juices flow. Here's a link to the archive on my blog site that shows a brooch I made for my mom a couple yrs back from old earrings, resin, jewelry findings that I just loved. Sadly my mom has passed on and now it seems to be missing..sigh. Hoping I'll run across it on a trip back home one day. http://tapestrysimaginings.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html Have a wonderful time here at MJ's and if you have any questions, holler, someone will respond. Lots of super women here.
