Posted - Aug 27 2011 : 05:09:30 AM Hi all, I just joined a couple of weeks ago. I live along the coast of NJ. I'm a tomato gardener. I have approx. 90 tomato plants on my 75 by 125 foot lot. I've spent the past 3 weekends making sauce and soup. I picked a bunch yesterday to make more soup this weekend. I love to open a jar of soup on cold winter evenings. I dont sell any. I just put up as much as I can and give away the rest to family, friends and co-workers.
I'm getting ready to ride out Hurricane Irene. It's been a crazy couple of days around here. Yesterday I saw 2 ladies fighting over a loaf of bread. I was going to offer them my loaf,(I can easily bake a fresh loaf), but they were absolute lunatics. I just wanted to get away from them.
Look forward to meeting friends on here.

Posted - Aug 27 2011 : 07:08:16 AM From one Debbie to another...Sending prayers to you as you ride out the storm. I have seen how people can get over items at the grocery store. When we have had ice storms come our way...people go CRAZY. Thinking of you and Irene. Welcome to the farm!
