Posted - Jul 25 2006 : 1:00:58 PM Hello Everyone-
I found a MaryJanesFarm magazine at the local bookstore, and I was hooked!
I live in Altamont, NY (not far from Albany, NY), on about 10 acres of land. It is mostly wooded, but we've cleared a large area for a vegetable and herb garden. I'm also planning on getting some egg-laying chickens in the near future.
I grew up on a small "hobby" farm, so I have some background, but I also feel like I still have a lot to learn. I was so happy to find this website!
Thanks!!! Jennifer |

Posted - Aug 04 2006 : 3:23:39 PM Hi Jennifer,
I'm a Central New Yorker. I'm just north of the city of Syracuse. I love the Adirondacks and I would love to move to the Tupper Lake area but for various reasons, I haven't. Welcome to the forums. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Posted - Jul 27 2006 : 1:15:12 PM Hi Jennifer, I am Marianne and I used to live in Altamont until 3 years ago. I grew up in Altamont. Where do you live and did you grow up there? I went to Guilderland schools and graduated in 1978. Any way, We have a farmgirl group in Hoosick falls, well kind of. Rosie is from White Creek and Susan is from Berlin and Dorothy is from East Greenbush. WE meet all over and usually it revolves around some sort of activity. You are welcome if you are interested. Even if you are not I would love to meet you sometime. My parents still live there and I drive to Altamont about once a month. Welcome! Marianne |
