Posted - Jul 17 2006 : 09:33:56 AM I think I have found heaven! I can't tell you how wonderful I thinks this whole thing is. I have been craving something like this. I live in the suburbs of St. Louis and really want to move out "to the country" but this is a great place to start. I really became interested in gardening and organics after I was diagnosed with colon cancer. After a surgery to remove part of my colon I am cancer free. But it made me wonder how could this happen? I was 43 at the time, now 45. So in my pursuit to find answers I realized that it is basically the food and chemicals in and around us. So now I have found a place that will support me. You wouldn't believe the people who laugh at me when I talk about organic foods and cutting back on precription drugs. They think I am off my rocker! Needless to say I'm glad I found you!

Posted - Jul 24 2006 : 4:21:37 PM Welcome, Angie! You sure have found a good place to nest. It's wonderful that you were healed! I can't understand, with so much cancer everywhere, why folks are so resistant to learning about organic food. As for those prescriptions, oh--MY! The commercials on tv with pretend doctors advising us to check out the medicines are my personal trigger. Blessings, Ann

Posted - Jul 20 2006 : 06:58:01 AM Welcome, Georgia, from a fellow Show-Me Stater! I'm down here in Southeast Missouri, about 80 miles from you. I'm in the process of getting our new FarmGirl Chapter going, but things have been really a mess for me the past few months. I hope when we get started you'll be a part of that group, too!
You're going to love this group -- in the few months since I've found this site (through MJ's book), I cannot believe how much the ladies here have come to be such an important and positive part of my life. Again -- welcome!

Posted - Jul 19 2006 : 06:52:53 AM Hi, Georgia,
I'm also in St. Louis. We HAVE to meet! :o) WoW!! I've been waiting for this to happen for a year, that's how long I've been on this forum already. It sure has been a blessing and so much fun. And I'm so proud to say so, even at the rist of strange looks and little chuckles. This is so awesome. I live in Affton and work in Kirkwood.
Congratulations on your fight and victory over cancer. You have taken the right steps towards ensuring your health to be better by going organic and lessening your prescriptions. I can say that based on various articles and such that I have read, I'm not an expert in any of those areas, but what you are doing has to be good for your body.
From your posts I can see that we already have a few things in common, our love and desire to take our country thinking to the country, our age (it's the same), and our location. Please feel free to contact me through my personal email as well as on here. I"m surprised no one mentioned that we are so close to each other. Oh well, now you know and I can't wait to be in touch with you and see what else we have in common.
Welcome aboard, Georgia, I know we all look forward to hearing more about how your decisions for healthy living will help us all live more heathfully. Blessings to you.

Posted - Jul 17 2006 : 11:19:15 PM Angie, welcome to the group. It is truly great here. I became interested in organics after I bought some homemade soap from a lady, and she started sharing tips and recipes for household and beauty stuff. I could go on for hours about the ingredients in stuff that we use every day.
