Hi. I am from the Eastern Side of Washington. Spokane to be exact. We had a 50 acre, 100 year old farm just north of here but we sold just before the market started to slump. My husband likes space but not all the fixing of a farm that old. We are living in a cul de sac now with about a 1/2 an acre. Our very nice neighbors love our chickens and we even have a rooster. They claim they are not any noisier than the barking dogs or the wild turkeys that come through. We are looking for something a little newer and maybe a little smaller. We have 2 boys, 15 and 11, they are wonderful kids and they are growing up much too fast. I have been in touch with Grace (katmom) who lives south by about 45 minutes and I am wondering if their are any other farmgirls on the north of Spokane. I have been enjoying reading all the posts and I am so excited to part of such a wonderful group of ladies.

Hi LightGreenThumb and Welcome! I live near katmom, in the "west plains" area of Spokane. If you ever want a get-together, add me in! It's nice the neighbors don't mind your rooster! I live on 10 acres, and the barking dog across the street is really anoying, I could imagine being in a close neighborhood again, it would not sit well with me anymore. (If they would just give the poor dog some attention!) But then again, we would have a lot less weeds to mow.... Happy you have joined up, this is a fun place!

The Oasis is in great shape. We are the second owners. I really want to fix it up nice but haven't landed on a theme for it. Does anyone have any great ideas?

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Glad you had a great time glamping! I want to come see all the trailers the next time. I have a 1964 Oasis that needs a little sprucing up.

I don't think I can pick a favorite thing. However, I did get an excellent deal on a manual typewriter. And you say "Why in the World would you want that?" My 11 year old son want to write books and needs a typewriter to do it. I think he's watched to much Murder She Wrote with his Grandma.

Looking forward to getting together with all the gals in this area. Just let me know when!

Hi Elizabeth! My sister lived in Spokane for a few years. It is so nice there. I love it! Though I have been dreaming for years to move up that way (Idaho actually, Moscow). Take Care and hope to see you around!

Happy it is, indeed, for me that my heart is capable of feeling the same simple and innocent pleasure as the peasant whose table is covered with food of his own rearing, and who not only enjoys his meal, but remembers with delight the happy days and sunny mornings when he planted it, the soft evenings when he watered it, and the pleasure he experienced in watching it’s daily growth.

Elizabeth, now that I have survived this weekend, I will focuse on gathering any Spokane & surrounding areas MJF gals for coffee or some sort of meet up.....glad you had fun with your MIL at the FC show.
I have 2 girlfriends that were vendors at the show. Tammy of the "Full of Pride' booth and Mig, who also was camping with us.

Good for you! I spent way more than I anticipated. There were so many lovely things and deals to be had. I got to go with my MIL and it was a pleasure. We haven't been able to spend much time together lately so it was a good reason to take off for the day. Hope everyone that was able to go had a splendid time! Blessings,

I wouldn't miss the Farm Chick show for nothing. Shopping at its best. Looking forward to meeting everyone in person when we finally get to gather. So wish everyone far and wide could come, now wouldn't that be a "gathering". See you at the show!

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. I'm enjoying every minute.

Don't forget to hit the Farm Chick show at the fairgrounds this weekend...we'll all be out shopping till we drop! Ah, Glamping & shopping, it doesn't get any better then that! lolo!

Thank you girls for the welcome. Our big farm was in Chattaroy. I am now living near the Spokane County Club for those of you on this side of the mountains. We are looking for a place with a little more land in Colbert or the Southern part of Chattaroy. I grew up on the north side and just can't seem to leave. We would like something like you have Karin. Fairly close in with some space...

Elizabeth!!!

Your name is my middle name and it's been passed down through generations in our family!

I live in Spokane Valley. I seem to be kind of isolated from other farm girls out here -- so many of them are west of town. I grew up on the north side (Hillyard) and know Spokane pretty well. Where abouts (general location) are you?

I have a 15 year old daughter, three dogs and three guinea pigs, and live on a suburban street with over an acre in the back. I LOVE where I live! I am close to everything but it has a rural twist.

Looking forward to hearing more from you... And welcome!!!

Karin
