Posted - May 03 2011 : 6:33:34 PM Hello fellow farmgils! I am so excited to be here. I just received my package in the mail and was so giddy skipping back from the mailbox! Good thing I live on a country road because it must have been quite the site, lol. I'm anxious to get started on earning the badges and learning new things from so many different people. Is this exciting or what? I mean, how long did it take y'all to calm down a bit after joining? Anyhow, my husband and I live on 36 acres and have a small horse ranch, a huge veggie garden and a German Shepherd pup of five months, Savannah. She is my constant companion as I am now a stay at home mom to our canine. Isn't that funny? But with the price of gas, it was not cost effective for me to keep my job that is an hour away. Can't wait to "meet" all of you! I'm still trying to figure out this site and am working my way through it. I didn't find any chapter close to me to join but I'll be trying to stay in touch through this site.

Posted - May 21 2011 : 06:00:24 AM Kim,
if you Google on a map you'll find that I'm around the Binghamton area. Yes, it's small, but surrounded by other towns as well. One of those sprawling suburban area situations. The area is known as the Triple Cities.
I'm definitely going to start putting a list together so we can plan a meet up

Posted - May 21 2011 : 05:47:47 AM Oh, thank you Cynthia! That would be great if you can do that. I don't know where Endwell is nor have I ever heard of it. Small town? I know mine is. We do our shopping in Cobleskill.

Posted - May 20 2011 : 2:27:51 PM Welcome Kim!
Looks like you're about 2 hours away from where I am going east and then hanging a left at Cobleskill Nice to have another upstate NY girl on the forum. I was talking with Luanne and suggested that those of us who are kinda "neighbors" should find a place that would be convenient for us to meet up. I think I'll start putting a list together of those of us within a 2 hourish parameter and see what we can do.
You'll love the ladies on this forum! So much great information and the women are just so wonderful!!
Welcome aboard

Posted - May 16 2011 : 02:03:59 AM Yes! Beekman Boys live in our small town. Isn't that crazy? Jennifer, I love the Altamont Fair! I drive my hubby nuts looking at all the crafts they usually have there. Do you know of any Chapters in our area? It would be nice to be able to get together with some MJF members. I could use some hands on learning for sewing because I don't have a clue about needles! LOL

Posted - May 12 2011 : 06:04:29 AM Hi Kim!
LOL, you sound alot like me. I often talk to myself when I'm outside in the garden or hanging laundry. The neighbors must think I'm nuts, lol!
I am brand new here as well, and am loving it! Your farm sounds lovely. I live on Long Island, and we only have about 1/3 of an acre, but I manage to fit a lot into that small space.

Posted - May 09 2011 : 02:56:50 AM We are just entering the Spring season here, actually. Flowers are starting to bloom and the grass is growing like crazy due to all the rain we've been having. Our horses are in heaven with all that new growth! I'll have to figure out how to do pictures on here. I applied for a patch and couldn't figure out how to attach two photos, only one. I have some awesome pics of our property on my Facebook page though.
