My name is Sarah and I am new to the site.

I have been reading MaryJane's magazine on and off for the past year and I realized it was time to finally get involved. I have been in touch with a local group and I am hoping to be able to start attending meetings in June.

My husband and I garden and we like to preserve tomatoes and beans. My husband hunts as well so we often have venison in the freezer. I have gotten good at cooking deer over the years!

We love to save money, and resources, so we use our clothes line all spring and summer and use rain barrels to water our garden. When possible, we do work on our home ourselves.

I am a quilter who also enjoys light clothing and home accessory sewing. I am blessed to work for a fabric company. I have dabbled in embroidery and card making over the years. We collect vintage Fiestaware and my husband has a collection of vintage razors. We are also active in our church and sing in the choir.

I also love to visit thrift shops and antique shops! Lately, my husband and I have been enjoying jigsaw puzzles. We buy them at GoodWill, take a week or two to assemble them, and then donate them back to GoodWill. It's the ultimate recycling! My latest thrift shop find was three antique quilts at various thrift/antique shops. I spent only about $40 for all of them. I know someone with a collection of old fabric and I have been working on repairing the quilts with period appropriate fabric.

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
