Posted - Apr 19 2011 : 12:13:17 PM Hi - I've been fascinated for a while with the mag and organization. Having been a Girl Scout, then a leader, and finally an adult trainer, your "merit badge" program is interesting to me, and I can see myself using it to learn and practice new skills. How would I get started?

Posted - Apr 21 2011 : 9:10:59 PM I have an emotional connection with aprons. The only grandmother I ever knew always had on an apron. I don't think I ever saw her without one. A real country woman if ever there was one. I have the clothes pin apron my mother used for years when i was little. She didn't wear an apron much. It was too country for her! I love to wear mine and often forget to take it off when the meal is ready. It is almost a joke in our house that I jump up after the prayer to remove it because I noticed it when I bowed my head. Until MJF I had stopped making my own. I've made 5 in the last three weeks. 3 were gifts. 2 are mine all mine. :) Connie

Posted - Apr 21 2011 : 8:34:45 PM Hey Barbara from Suwanee,Ga. I have aprons hanging in my "Hen House!" (Check out debra e to get low down on Hen House) They are from ladies that I have cared for and also from my mom (when she was first married) and from my mother-in-law. (who I loved dearly.)I think aprons are COOL!I love to cook in an apron. I feel like "Back Home" when I have it on.

Posted - Apr 21 2011 : 6:13:51 PM Since all of you welcomed me so warmly, thought I'd post something about myself. Perhaps there is already a thread somewhere about this, but I have a guilty little secret to share. I wear aprons. I love aprons! I love cutting and forming my own bias bindings and having aprons to match my clothes (mostly jeans; the uniform!). They make me feel together when working in the house or yard, and there is some deep connection with the past and with the women in my family. Is anyone else out there passionate about aprons? |
