Hi! I have watched these forums for a while and decided to join in. I live in south central WI in a small town and we hope to build our dream house on 50 acres that we own in a couple of years. It is so hard to wait, but it will be worth it!

Tammy, Welcome from Minnesota. I like the quilt shop in Reedsburg. It really will be great to wait for your dream. Having lived a very long time, I know dreams come true. Make a "What I want on my farm" scrapbook. magazines are a great help and so is the internet. Happy Planning!

Casie, yeah, who can resist a few inches of snow in mid April? We used to live in Spencer, not too far from you. Oh well, they are saying 60s by Easter, so hopefully we will warm up and can get the gardens growing (I actually put in seeds for hardy plants on Monday!)

I know, it is a beautiful state. Can't imagine living anywhere else! I lived in Texas for 8 years back in the 80s and couldn't wait to move back! We have so many great state parks and lots of woods...and seasons

Welcome Tammy,

I live in Maine now but I grew up in northern Illinois and lived in Beloit for a few years (Beloit College).
While I love Maine, your part of the world is still "Home" to me.

I wish you all good luck with your farm. I'm sure it will be wonderful.

I know you'll find a lot of good and helpful advice here. This is a very comfortable, happy place to be.

Thanks everybody for the welcome! I really appreciate it... This seems to be the place to sit back and "listen" to conversations that calm the mind...just what I need after working and running my daughter around! I love hanging out the laundry, having a garden, canning, knitting, cross-stitching, quilting, reading...basically everything but house cleaning, too many other interesting things to do.

Welcome from Tennessee Tammy! Glad you are here. Lots of folks are "still dreaming" of the day they make it to the country. No matter where we live we live the country lifestyle! Be it a small garden, a few chickens or just hanging out the laundry to dry! I know you will enjoy these Ladies. I sure do!
