Posted - Mar 22 2011 : 3:33:32 PM I would like to say hey to everyone and tell you a little about me and why Im here!
My name is Pennie and I live in the Low Country of South Carolina, I have lived here for 6 years. I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and grew up in the city, visiting my cousins that lived on a farm in rural Ohio. Growing up I always wanted to live the farm life, my mom would always try to make things as simple as possible and bring as much country to the city as she could, with our limited backyard space, no cows allowed and a tiny little garden. But here I am... in country over my head!! I LOVE IT!! My husband was born and raised down here and one day we went to the Tractor Supply to get some milk supplement for a calf that lost his mamma and I just happened to pick up one of MaryJanes magazines.....
This is great!!! So... a little more about me... Im 36, I have 2 teenage girls (13 and 16) and 2 stepson's that are alot older..lol one is 22 and married, the other one is 20 and off in college in Virginia. My husband and his cousin run a chicken farm, have about 300+ head of cattle and we have numberous cats running around, not to minchin the occasionall alligator that wonders in from the swampy creek thing down the road and the large amount of snakes in the summer time. (EEK!! I do NOT like snakes) AND I can't forget my 2, 4 legged girls, Sammy and Prissy... my best buddies when the husband isn't home and the kids are up town with friends. I love to quilt, sew, paint, draw, TRY to grow flowers, but I do better if they are already growing... lol... Im a junky... I love to go to flea markets, collect antiques and then bring home old furniture from the dump and paint it... which drives my husband crazy. If I see something in the store, I go home and try to make it myself, why spend that much on it, when I can do it myself!! I love to get out there on the tractor, play in the mud, feed my babies that have lost their mamma's and just sit and enjoy life as the good Lord made it. Im simple and I try to live life that way.... I hope to talk with all of you soon!! - Pennie
