I live in Virginia between the mountains and the state capital. We presently live on 15 ac., but will have to move from here in the next 3 to 5 months as growth is catching up with us and the folks that own the land plan to sell. We can't afford to purchase it for what they can get for it. I presently at 51 am going to school to receive my degree in Horticulture and Teaching. I started life anew 3 years ago and am now doing what I Love and Enjoy. I have my soul mate now and my life is wonderful and enriched.

Thanks for the welcome, age is a state of mind. We can always do if we have the determination.

Shelly, Congratulations on your fresh start and welcome! At 55, I sometimes get stuck in the "I am too old" rut and it is so good to hear from someone who has broken away from that thinking. Glad you have joined this site and please share and contribute your horticultural knowledge with us!

Welcome aboard Shelly! Good for you, going back to school. That is so wonderful. I started my life over at 37 when I became divorced and the one thing I got out of it was: I CAN do it, no matter how hard it seems.

Hi Shelly -
I started over again at the age of 46 and have never looked back. Also went back to school. Congratulations on your resolve to design your life to fit you! It's too bad you have to move, but it could provide an opportunity for you to find something truly spectacular!

So glad you've joined our little group. We all have so many things we can learn from each other!

Hello Shelly

I am so sorry you will have to be moving.
We live 38 km from the nearest city but just in the last three years we see the city moving the bounderies outward and onto farm land. Since farmers get a good price for their land, better then what they can make farming they sell out. Within a few months subdivision are developed. It is so sad to see.

I hope you find a nice place you will enjoy.

Welcome to the forum.

Marlyn
