Hi to All!

My name is Leaha. I'm a new farmgirl still looking in the real estate ads for my dream farm. I am the proud wife of Jay and mama of three girls (ages 8,4,and 3). I have 4 rabbits, 1 dog, 1 guinea pig, and 9 birds. We are renting an old farmhouse for now, located on 2 acres. There is attached to our garage an old chicken coop that we are thinking about filling with chicks so we can get our own eggs at some point.

I used to be a nursing assistant at our local hospital until I developed a seizure disorder a year ago that now makes me disabled. I am learning to be a stay at home mom. I'm finding out how much I love it and how much I was missing. My husband is an organic and recycling fiend, he's been trying to tell me for years that farming is the way to go. I am discovering that he is right. It is such fun to sit together and map out our garden or household projects. We are now taking the next year or so to learn more about farming and look for a larger plot of land.

Here's to some farmgirl friendships!

Leaha

Hello Leaha,
So good you found us! I will look forward to hearing more about your new life as a stay at home mom, and farm wife. So sorry about the disability and am hoping for you that being at home and getting back to nature will heal you. Spend some time looking around through all the threads in this forum. Feel free to add your two cents anywhere you feel inclined to do so. It is really fun when a new person looks at one of the old threads and chimes in with a whole new idea on the subject. Fun to bring up old topics and get them going again as well as starting your own new thoughts.
Welcome!
Eileen
