Posted - Aug 09 2010 : 11:34:02 AM I'm so happy to have found this awesome group of folks! I'm a city-girl turned farmgirl and am loving every minute of it. We currently have 40 chickens (cochins, red stars and black stars) and rent our pasture to a neighbor for his cows. I would love to get some fiber goats next. I just used the Stitching Room book to learn to tat and am working on the Know Your Food section of the Farm Kitchen badges. I'm so looking forward to participating in the many available conversations with my new-found "sisters".
I'm married to my best friend Bob and we have 5 girls and two boys and 5 grandchildren. I love collecting recipes and fabrics and yarn. Just wish I had enough time and energy to use them all! My next big project begins later this month when I will take the Master Food Preserver program offered at our local county extension.

Posted - Aug 27 2010 : 05:58:55 AM My Mom came up with my name after the first place that my parents' had their first date, The Starlet Theatre, guess I'm lucky they didn't go the the Main Street Cafe or some other place with a generic name! LOL! Most people call me Star--which makes for an interesting name now since I married a man with the last name of Schipp (sounds like ship) Hi, I'm Star Schipp, "live long and prosper" if there are any Star Trek fans out there!

Posted - Aug 16 2010 : 12:38:46 PM I sure feel welcome! I've signed up for some swaps and a penpal and am looking forward to gathering some friends around me. I've been pretty isolated and have had a hard time making friends around here. Natesgirl has even signed up to take the Master Food Preserver training with me and I can hardly wait to meet her! Thanks to you all for helping me get started and for helping me feel part of the group. hugs
