Bright Blessings to all!
I am excited to find this forum. I have MaryJane's Ideabook from the library and am devouring it when I can justify the freetime.
I am a nursing student with 3 active boys ages 10, 9, and 7.
Finals are in a few days and then I will have time to delve in to the book more deeply as well as into these archives.
I grew up on the farm, however, my mother was one of those 'I can do it better myself' kinds and so I learned virtually nothing of what farmlife was.
Now I am an Urban Girl and have just enough of a back yard to start up a modest homestead. After graduation (next May!) I plan on chickens and a more elaborate garden. I am also dreaming of more ecofriendly retrofits like rainwater collection and solar panels.
Well, enough for now.
SO glad to have found you all.
Blessed Be,
Victoria

Welcome, VIctoria - I think you'll love it here, and you'll find plenty of support and information about life as a farmgirl - urban or otherwise!

Patricia - thanks for the laugh! I can just imagine Kobe Bryant trying to calm me down and help deliver my babe......yech. I, also, think nurses, teachers and, actually, legal secretaries deserve MUCH more than they get! How fun for you, Victoria, to be headed on such a great path. Best of luck with your tests!

XOXO, Libbie

Welcome, Victoria! We're all looking forward to getting to know you. Urban farmgirls rock! How wonderful to be a nurse! In my opinion, nurses and teachers should get the millions and sports figures should get the $9 per hour. Next time these sports fans get sick, see how far they get with a basketball player giving them IVs.

Farmgirl hug and Blessed Be,
Patricia

Welcome Victoria (pretty name!)
Isn't the book great? It will be fun to get to know you. I can relate to the ages of your kids. I have 3 9year olds and an 11 year old at home. (2 boys and 2 girls)
I think nursing is such a great career to get into...you can do that anywhere and what a great service!!
It will be fun to hear about your progress from Urban farmgirl to having chickens and all you like to do..you will find alot of kindred spirits here for sure!
