Greetings from the Hoosier state! I am a simple-hearted, christian, small-town girl who has just bought a 3-acre property in Indiana. My husband and I are very excited to have some land to learn to garden on and I'm planning to learn all the basic skills that my mother grew up with..sewing, baking, gardening, canning, etc. I want to become a WOMAN. I'm not as extreme as a homesteader, but I do appreciate doing things yourself and am really looking forward to living in the country for the first time in my life. I grew up on my grandpa's farm, on weekends and holidays, but now I get to experience it EVERYday!
I'd love to hear from anyone who likes to chat and share stories of our lives. I'm honest (to a fault, my husband says), but I think life is too short not to be.
Thanks for checking me out!

Thanks SO much for the warm welcome! Hartford City is in "north central" Indiana.
I forgot to mention another hobby I have..I have this infatuation for the amish. I LOVE the simplicity of their lifestyle, which is kind of how I want to live (just not to such extremes.)

Welcome Tami,
I am right there with you when it comes to honesty. It is a good fault to have. Congrads on your new place. I too am in the process of moving from the city back to the country. YEAH!!!!! No more car traffic and city noises! I can not wait to hear the spring peepers, birds, and bugs. Ask questions and I am sure you will get answers, everyone is very friendly here. WELCOME!

Pray for our troops to come home safe and soon.
Enjoying the road to the simple life :>)

Hi Tami and welcome!! Congrats on your new place. You will love living in the country. At night I sit out on the swing and watch my kids play and have to think, how can anyone live in the city? Anyways, good luck on getting your place up and running and again welcome!!

Welcome Tami! This is a great place, and I think you'll find lots of great ideas for your new "farm"! :)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that "someday" I can have a little farm of my own, but right now I live in suburbia! LOL

The end will justify the pain it took to get us here.

Tami, I'm so pleased to "meet" you! I think you've come to the right place! There are so many here willing to share what they know!
I'm a fellow Hoosier-up here in the NW corner of the state. Congratulations on your new home! Where is Hartford City? Maybe I know of some neat places I can steer you to! Again, Welcome!
