Posted - Apr 20 2006 : 8:45:38 PM I just wanted to say what a joy and encouragement it has been to discover this network of "Farmgirls". I have lived on the farm my whole life- 38yrs- and to look at me, (I look like a typical PTA mom) you would never know that I love milking a cow and goats, making cheese, soap, cream separators, chickens and a lifestyle that to most of the world passed by years ago. In my community, my "state of heart" is definitely an isolated condition. A lot of my friends, seem to focus more on the Dow Jones than simple living. I feel so validated knowing that I'm not alone-- Around here, "Farmgirl Spirit" is an epidemic! I'm thankful to join you! |

Posted - May 19 2006 : 07:01:43 AM Hello Kari' I recently joined this amazing group myself and understand what it's like to feel like you've somehow been born 100 years too late. I am building my dream farm in southern Chesapeake, Va. and hope to very soon add a cow and some goats. I plan to make my own soap, butter, cheese, yogurt, etc., with the milk. Maybe when I'm ready you can share your cheese making tips with me. So nice to know you're out there! Have a great day! Wendy
