Posted - Apr 10 2006 : 12:20:37 PM Hello,
Just wanted to introduce myself. I have just joined the farmgirl group -Southern Fried Farmgirls Porter Texas. I have really enjoyed my time with the group and hope to have loads of fun!
We have a goat farm and manufacturer natural goat milk soaps. We have also started making herbal soaps using essential oils.
Our adventure started as a 4-h project. When our goats started milking we didn't know what to do with all the milk. So, we started making goat milk soap with the assistance of our 4h mentor.
We hope someday to upgrade to a grade A dairy. We have found out however that is quite expensive so we will have to see.
Our trademark is: People Tested Goat Approved
Hope to meet some of you on line and chat as I love meeting new people.
I am going to enjoy the field trip on wed to pick strawberries.
I might just make some goat milk ice cream to go with my strawberries when I get back.
Yummm~!!!!!
Best Regards, Julie Hammond Hammond Farm People Tested Goat Approved, tm

Posted - Apr 14 2006 : 04:13:12 AM Good Morning Julie!!
I think that's so funny how your daughter's 4H project has turned into a family business. That is so great! I wonder how many of us here on the forum have had similar experiences.....small projects turning into huge endeavors.
Gals, Julie is a true farmgirl....she brought soap samples to our meeting (which I had to miss). Well, we all met this past Wed. to go berry picking (which didn't happen because the berries were all picked...so we went walking around the local arboretum)...anyway, she brought me that sample I missed out on at the regular meeting!! So sweet!
Blessings Catherine

Posted - Apr 10 2006 : 8:53:09 PM Yum! Fresh Strawberries!!! Wish I could come! Glad you have joined us Julie. This is a great place to be. I would love to have a Nubian goat, but living in town,it is frowned upon. See you around the forum. Julia V.
