I recieved MaryJane's book for Christmas from my mother and have been in love with it ever since. We recently moved to a different house and while unpacking some books today I ran across this lovely book and realized there was a website...so of course I ran to the computer and just had to log on right away!!
My name is Elizabeth and I am from Eastern Iowa. I am 23 years old and a stay-at-home mama to Rebecca-2 and Jacob-8 months. I'm all into breastfeeding, natural parenting, etc. We live in town but I am a country girl at heart and some day hope to own our dream home in the country. I wouldn't even mind being off-grid. I love old-fashioned looking items, modest clothing, vintage aprons, and more. I'm trying to get together a vintage apron collection for display in my kitchen. I look forward to being a part of this community and hope to make some new friendships.

Welcome Elizabeth!!

My mom gave me MJ's book last year and I immediately fell in love, too. I couldn't get to this site fast enough. I know you will feel so at home here.

My girls are 13 and 10 now, but I fondly remember the days of 3 and baby....so precious. Just breathe in every miraculous moment and burn those memories in your mind. And, even though you're in "town", it sounds like you're living your dream already....keep doing all the things you love. When you get your land one day, it'll be icing on the cake!

Blessings
Catherine

My family's farm is near Joice, Iowa. Welcome, and it is so wonderful to see "young" women taking up the mantle of simple living and committed motherhood. So good to have you here!

By the way, get your mom to join us too!

We recently bought a house here in Manchester, Iowa. I've grown up all over the state though...Cedar Falls, Iowa City, Independence, Dyersville, Waterloo. Since we own the place we will be staying here for a long time, but like I mentioned earlier, we do hope to buy a small acreage at some point. It's just coming up with the money that's the problem! It's neat to see so many of you from Iowa - and glad to see that I'm not the only youngin'! :o)
