Posted - Feb 27 2006 : 9:33:47 PM Hi Everyone- So glad to have found this very unique and charming site full of wonderful members with fabulous ideas- I'm very excited to be a part of the group! I write to you from the Florida Panhandle. I am 35 years old and soon to be the Mom of 3 children. (My 3rd is due on April 9th!) I have a 10 year old son, 14 month old daughter and we are eagerly anticipating the arrival of another son. I am currently a SAHM. I am very happily married and also "mom" to a very loveable adopted terrier named Henry. My hobbies include: mail art, cooking, sewing, collecting ephemera, vintage textiles, gardening, thrift shopping, yard "saleing", recycling trash into treasures, finding creative ways to live frugally, reading, all sorts of crafts, traveling, spending time with family & friends, writing to penpals and much much more. I hope to share ideas with you and look forward to making some good friends here. Hugs, Karen

Posted - Feb 28 2006 : 8:34:27 PM Welcome Karen/pollyesther! Love the name you chose. My Mom was a fabriholic too. When I was a kid I remember bags of material in every closet. Lots of poly and remember double knit? I still have some of it, couldn't part with it after Mom was gone. Well, I'm drifting now, just wanted to say glad you joined us!

Posted - Feb 28 2006 : 4:03:58 PM Thank you for all the warm welcomes from everyone! Sending hugs all around! About my user name...(pollyesther)..Being a textiles packrat (a trait inherited from my mom) combined with being a child of the 70s and someone who likes puns and other wordplay, pollyesther just came naturally. Its an eclectic mix of the many elements that make up eclectic me! We are all very excited about the birth of our new little boy. I am getting bigger by the minute and am already down to that 1 shirt it feels like. I think Tide has an ad to that effect now which when I saw it I thought...how true! I will be sure to share photos once he arrives. I am happy to hear there are some other Florida Farmgirls out there and even nearby it sounds. How fun! I have to agree, Florida's weather, while sunny & mild can leave a lot to be desired in terms of mugginess. That humidity can really get to you! I dream of one day living where there are real seasons. My husband and I honeymooned in Vermont and I have to admit, Vermont stole my heart. It is so good to hear from you all. You really know how to make a gal feel at home! Thank you!

We like babies around here, so you will have to keep us posted. AnnieT just had a sweet boy.It was fun to follow her pregnancy. We lived a very short time in Palm Beach gardens. Too muggy for this Oregonian! See you around the forum! Julia V.

Posted - Feb 28 2006 : 05:35:55 AM Welcome, Karen!!!!
Congrats on your upcoming new arrival. Let's see, about now you'll be gettin' everything organized, makin' sure you've got all your comfort items, and pretty soon you'll be a bit bigger (even though you don't know how you could be any bigger!) and have only 1 shirt that fits. Funny stuff aside, what an absolutely wonderful time in your life.
Please keep us updated on how you are doing. And, of course, post pics of the Precious Miracle when you can!!
Blessings Catherine
