My name is Carol. Dh and I live on 10 acres in NW Iowa where we homeschool our 6 children. We are remodeling our 110 year old farm house now. I enjoy cooking, reading, and learning new skills. I loved the book, it has really motivated me. I look forward to getting to know you all.
Blessings,
Carol

Hey Carol and welcome!
I am also in awe of homeschooling moms. My mom is one and I'm pround to say I started it! Although I was only homeschooled for 3 1/2 years(left public school my freshman year in high school), I wouldn't be who I am today without those few years at home. And at 20, I'm still at home, but I love my family and I know that they're here for me until I am able to start a life of my own, which they will always be a part of. Wow, 110 year old farm house! That's so neat! I love old houses. Keep us posted and share any pictures you might have!

Much love,
Laura

Hi Carol! I just joined too. I grew up in Burlington and Des Moines but spent wonderful blissful days at my grandparents farm near Early, Iowa. I had asked my father (who was back last summer at a 50th high school reunion in Sac City) to drive by the old farm and take pictures for me. Sadly, the entire place was gone...the farmhouse, the hay barn, the milk barn, even the line of poplars that lined the side of the drive. I literally bawled like a baby. I had this crazy dream of buying the house and moving it to Texas - wouldn't have been possible but it was still a dream. I remember every nook and cranny of the house and the farm; the smell of the earth is still fresh in my memory.

Glad you are here and I would love to hear details of your remodel. I love old houses- they have their own stories to tell.

Welcome from a fellow Iowian! I live between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids on a double lot. My husband and I just bought 8 acres in Iowa County which is the homestead of my parents farm. Happy to meet someone else from Iowa. How about this mild winter we are having.
