Hi--I'm new to the farmgirl connection and hail from Illinois. I have this crazy dream of moving to the country and raising llamas and alpacas.I'm teaching myself to embroider and knit and I also write poetry and paint. I love being creative and self-sufficient and I love the midwest. "The country I come from is called the midwest"--Bob Dylan

Welcome! I'm also an alpaca wannabee. I have to content myself with going to the alpaca expos and knitting stuff with alpaca yarn. Maybe someday we'll live someplace with space for a couple of real live alpacas!

Prairiehawk, We're glad to meet you! I taught myself to knit, too....about a year and a half ago. Lived all my life in Illinois. I'm out by the Rock River now on a small piece of property - and we love it here. Hoping for you that your crazy dream comes true. And speaking of llamas, there's a llama farm out this way called Blue Moon Llamas, check it out: www.bluemoonllamas.com

Hi there. Welcoming you all the way from Geargia! I knitted a little a few years ago, but didn't keep at it and now I've forgotten how. I can crochet up a storm even after a few years of not and just pick it right back up. Not with the knitting. Too complicated for me. But then everything's a bit complicated for me.

Anyway, welcome and hope to see you more here.

Welcome fom the Atlantic coast! Some of my favorite trips were driving through the midwest years ago, when gas was 33 cents a gallon. You will love this forum...
