Hello! This is my first chat forum. My husband and I recently fullfilled our dream of moving out to the country. We have always wanted to be more self sufficient and raise our family away from town. I grew up in the country, but it's a little different when it's your home and your on your own. We recently built a home and a barn on nine acres. I have a blank slate. Exciting and a bit intimidating at the same time..... I am a stay at home mom and am really excited about learning from all of you. My wish list, of all the things I want to learn and do, is so long. This form inspires me and I am so happy to be a part of it.

Life should NOT be a jounrey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, latte in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming. "WOOHOO, what a ride!"

Thank you so much for your replies. I am an avid reader, and have loved reading the Mary Jane books. I love the outdoors, to camp and hike. Melissa, you are right, it will be a very busy spring! I have never loved snow so much! It covers the mud pit that is my yard. I hoped to get more done this winter as well. We lived in a small apartment for years, and never really decorated. I thought I would be motivated to fill the blank walls, but am having a tough time. It's either too expensive, or I cannot committ. Wish me Luck! I am beginning to put together a chicken coop. I am also trying my hand at soapmaking and sewing. I started crocheting a few months back, and love it! My family keeps me pretty busy, but I have been welcoming the time I get to spent browsing all the chat rooms. I just picked up a copy of a book recommended in the Reading Room at the library today. I am already putting advice to good use. Thanks again for your kind replies, and making me feel so welcome!
