Hello again,
after a long absence I am finally back to the board. The past few months have been rather hectic around here- I lost one of my grandmother's in September which was really hard on my dad who then had a bit of a crisis himself and after a few darkish weeks things seem to have resolved- he decided to retire early and our family is slowly adjusting to the new situation.
Because of that I took over his study to use it myself- being a teacher means that I have tons of books and paper and need a desk for grading. At work we are not assigned classrooms where we have our own desk. It is the kids who have a classroom for each form and WE are the ones who walk from room to room. So my only desk where I can leave stuff- is my desk at home. Which took over my small livingroom and I am relieved to have it out. The other rooms I have in the family home are currently also undergoing a transformation, new furniture gets delivered next week and by Christmas it will hopefully be all organized and beautiful again. I hope.
Work, family and a makeshift computer setup have kept me away from the computer for a while, I just did the work stuff and not much beyond that.
I kept knitting so my holiday gifts are nearly done and I just finished 40 handmade beeswax candles- edible gifts to follow next weekend. I tried to make most of my gifts and things myself.
So anyway, I'm back again.
:) Nad

Thank you all so much! It has been a tough year for me for more than one reason but I'm ok now. I decided to say goodbye to a lot of actual and emotional baggage and concentrate more on the things that really matter to me- so, eh, it was educational. :)

Welcome back. I'm too coming back after being gone for awhile. I feel for your loss as well - I lost my mother last February. My thoughts go out to you with warm hugs to surround you.

Happy Holidays

Welcome back!! I too had been away for about 2 years and have recently returned. I'm very sorry to hear about your grandmother. Are you German born or just living there? My family came from Germany in the late 1800's to WI, my maiden name is Wagner...can't get more German than that! You sound like you're on top of those gifts...lucky you. Glad to have you back.

Yay! I'm so excited you're back! I noticed that you hadn't been on in a while. I sent you a letter a few weeks ago. I never know how long they take to get to you. I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. I hope the situation has been better. What have you knitted as gifts?

Hello. It's nice to meet someone in Germany! How exiting. I'd love to hear more of your life there. My family is from Germany. Both sides , actually. I am a Schwab. My brother was there in Bad Tolz (?) in the army and both his kids were born there. I would love to go someday, but I'll have to wait for a highway. I'm so afraid to fly and that would be hours up there.

I'm sorry about the loss of your grandmother. Sounds like you are very busy. Teaching is a hard job. And your classrooms are interesting. So the kids stay in one room all the time and the teachers go to each class? That sounds like lots less confusion.

Sending you a welcome back all the way from Georgia. Kris
