Posted - Dec 08 2008 : 11:39:52 PM I'd been tipped off to Mary Jane a year ago by an online friend, but never got around to tracking down info until lately, and so begins the slippery slope.
I homebirthed my last two babes, breastfeed longer than most people seem to think is necessary (hey, they don't need to watch), cloth diaper, have a 1200sf garden, a pantry almost as big as my kitchen, plan to homeschool, heat with wood stoves, and blah blah blah. I've been calling it suburban homesteading here in North Idaho.
So I'm here to schmooze with like-minded people who won't look at me like I have 3 extra heads when I get all excited about an apron or possibly getting chickens at some point. :)

Posted - Dec 09 2008 : 01:09:14 AM Lanna, Welcome, you have definitely come to the right place. I home school, have a very large garden(sshhh, it's sleeping right now:) ) and have found this site and the women here to be very open, friendly, and welcoming. You have found your extended family here!! Too bad you aren't closer to me, we could start up a Farmgirl Chapter.
Glad to have you join us, you'll love it here.
