Hello to all my new friends!
From the first time I read MJ's book I knew I had found a kindred spirit. What an exciting surprise to discover there were so many of us!
My name is Bev and I live on our family farm with my husband and our saint bernard named Gracie. We raise corn, soybeans, hay and registered angus. We have been blessed with six grandchildren from 5 years to 18 months. They are my pride and joy.
Two months ago I closed my retail store to have more flexibility so that I could spend more time with my parents who are very ill. This is a difficult time for our family but God has been so faithful! This group has been an answer to prayer. So, I want my first post to be a great big hug and a huge thank you to each one of you. You'll never know how much joy you've brought to my life already. I can't wait to get to know you better. It will take me some time to grasp how everything works so bear with me.
Bev

Hello Bev - welcome. I empathize with having to care for you folks. It is a motion of love but one that tears at your heart at the same time. I know you will have the grace when you need to call upon it. You are in my prayers.

Hello Bev, and welcome! Bless you in your work of love. Glad you found this place to visit and relax. It does become addictive, though! I am a newbie myself, and finding new things here all the time. Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Bev: a gathering is when a bunch of "farmgirls" get together for fun or a wknd outing. Sometimes girls go camping, or have sewing get togethers at their homes. Theres not a lot of us in Ohio. I think I may be the furthest North. I meant Ashland OHIO not Kenutcky! teehee! I'm above Columbus.... then we have another gal near Miami, and another one Southeast I think.... so that brings us up to 4 or 5!
Willbe keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I too took care of my mom for many years.... its not easy in any way, but like you... I iwll always remember those times....

Bev, you must be so young youself if your parents are just 65. Wow! I know I will be keeping them in my prayers.

My youngest granddaughter is 5. She just started kindergarten, too. Her school just had grandparents day a few weeks ago. Watch out fot that. Just a big money making scheme! But it was fun. I'm just 50 and I feel very young. I guess it's all the love from the little ones, huh?

Hugs, Kris

Thanks Kris. Oh all my grandkids are within 8 miles of me. I love it that way. Our oldest one...Maddie just started kindergarten. Seems like she's changing so quickly...I tell her to just stay little so Gram can love up on her. She tells me I can always love up on her...I'll hold her to that! All of them are precious...as I'm sure you feel about yours!
Gee, I sure don't know where the time goes...Seems my children just moved away and now my parents...well, I can't imagine life without them...don't even want to think of it! My Dad has Lou Gehrigs and Mom has cancer. They're great people who spent there life working...hard...looking forward to the day they could retire...they just turned 65. It's hard to understand sometimes. Sorry, didn't mean to go on. Thanks Kris.

Hi Dawn!
We're not too far from each other. I'm in Logan County just southwest of you. I too am interested in getting to know some other Ohio Farmgirls! I went to your harvestthymefarm blog...your daughter is beautiful. I remember those days...and they weren't that long ago! Now we have grandbabies. What a joy!

Thank you Diana. Our store was an exciting venture that I poured my heart and soul into. It was a circa 1862 historical home that we purchased and restored. We sold home decor items, garden accessories and gifts. We offered design services for homes, gardens and offices. It was alot of fun. But, now I'm at a stage in my life where you choose what you can live with... with no regrets! I'm so thankful for this time with my Mom & Dad.

Thanks for asking and have a blessed day.
