Hi, I just found this site and thought I would join in and maybe meet some like minded ladies. I can always use a new friend. I am a stay at home wife and mother to three children, 13, 11, & 3. This is my first year to Homeschool. We live on a farm in Southwest Arkansas. We have laying hens, reg Angus cattle, and are about to get our first Jersey heifers. I love to craft, sew, garden, I do a lot of canning in the summer also. I love to read esp. anything to do with homesteading or farming. This was my grandparents farm, but now it is all grown up and we are trying to clear it off and make new pasture and try to make this what it once was or better, but it is going to be a slow go I am afraid. I also like to cook and bake.

There is no other life for me, but farm life.

Welcome fellow Arkansan! that is so wonderful to have your grandparent's farm! I am like Jenny....my grandparents lost their farm in the Depression and I thought I would grow up and buy it back but some engineer from Chicago bought it and fixed it up and it has the original 400-600 acres with it and costs a fortune!!!! We're talking over a million....way over so forget that dream! But that is great that there are people that still have family farms! You could get one of those plaques probably that they give to people that have farms in the family for 100 years or more! Anyway...welcome, I live in town but I had a little farm in Iowa before I came down here. I am living in my parents house, they've passed, and my Dad built it but it's in town and not rural...darn! So glad you found us and you will love it here...these gals are awesome!

Hi Tara and welcome from Wisconsin! You'll love it here! I'm a married mom of 2 grown sons, ages 28 and 25, both out on their own. Recently retired from nursing due to health issues. I'm trying to keep busy with crafts and organizing a farmgirl chapter in my hometown. I also enjoy gardening in my postage stamp yard....lol I Know you will love it here!

Welcome Tara! sounds like you have a lot in common with a lot of us!!! You will love your Jerseys when you get them..I think they are the best. I have one Jersey milk cow named Mona. She is the perfect cow. That is awesome that you get to live on your grandparents farm! My grandparents were farmers too (Dairy) but sold off their farm before I was old enough to put in dibs on it..darn it!!
I am glad you found us!!!!!
