Hello, I have just signed up to be an "Honorary Farm Girl". I originally discovered the "Farm Girl Connection" with reading Mary Jane's magazine on a rack in the Saratoga Springs Library, over a year ago!....that day I signed up to have my own club...I had only been in this area a short while and had all these dreams..I contacted a dear friend I had just meet, bubbling over with excitement....(she has gone on as a active member, earning her badges, meeting other members, being a great asset to all farm girls)and that was that for me...it never went any further....I have been so busy with trying to establish my own riding stable, clearing land, being a foster parent, fencing paddocks, building a 4-h equestrian club....the list goes on....that I have had no time for much else. Now I feel I can have a little free time for me
Smile , on top of every thing else...we all deserve that! RIGHT? TIME FOR US!!!! Check me out at wolfpondstables.com and hope to hear from the other Farm girls out out there..

Hello Again,
My daughter just moved back to Ny from San Francisco, so happy she's home! Well anyway she arrived at my house Friday night, Sunday I followed her, with her belongings in the back of my truck to Brooklyn.....what a trip..Its hard to park a truck in the city...But all went well, and shes settling in nicely. I couldn't live there, but she found a great job and is going back to school. Amber (my daughter)also wants to be a Mary Jane farm girl, so I think I will make my own chapter...Today I got my official Farmgirl Sisterhood pkg...so exciting....

Sam in AR....Did you look at my site? It's been slow going, so much work. Worth every bit....need some customers, have a few regular riding students and a few calls inquiring about boarding...took some very nice ladies trail riding the other week, the word will get around!!!!

Laura....we are neighbors.... Howdy....You'll have to come visit....want to join my chapter when I apply for one? So far it will be my daughter, a close friend in Brooklyn, and another friend outside of Saratoga Springs.... I figure we will get alot done via email....

Hello Claudia!

Boy, have you got a great set-up. No wonder you are so busy. Hope you do really well, it sure sounds like you ought to, just lovely! How many Pasos do you have, the mare and filly, or more? Your filly is striking! I haven't seen that coloration before. She's beautiful. My relatives have been raising Pasos since the 60's. They are wonderful horses.

Welcome Claudia from south central Kentucky. I have a neighbor that has Pasofina horses. I had never heard of them until this neighbor moved in about 15 years ago.
Sounds like you have been a very busy farmgirl. It's good to be busy and productive!!!

Claudia,
I checked out your website. Gorgeous place and horses. Makes me homesick for a visit.
But tobe honest, I love horses but I've always been a tad afraid of them. I've never been able to ride alone. :(

Welcome Claudia! I want to hear all about your farm! I love horses and used to do dressage in Iowa. Of course I waited 40 some years before I could afford my little farm and my horses and their gear and now I'm out of it but still would love to hear about yours! How exciting! And the Adirondacks...how beautiful! I've never been there but I love the outdoors and have seen beautiful videos of the area and read about it. I haven't looked at your website yet but I am going directly there!
I hope you will have time to post and keep us all informed about your venture! You will love it here and the women here are so smart and wonderful you'll wonder what you did before you found this place! Looking forward to hearing more!

Denise,
I was looking for a equine bunk feeder with a hay rack...and they had 2, well they said they had 2 until I drove an hour to get there...nice town, I was there once before buying my male Jack Russell who I used for breeding this past spring...love the breed, all the pups are in super homes...I have many friends in the Catskill region, If I go the back way, Galway is on the route...

Oh ok Claudia,
I am familiar with Lake George. Beautiful up there but then I am a bit prejudice to the area there. I haven't been home in a few years but I really would like to get back there. How did you find Agway in Galway, by accident? lol No one knows where Galway is unless they live around there. Of course it is built up a bit more now if you can believe it. It sure wasn't much back in the day. It's actually called Galway Village where the feedstore is.

Hi Welcome to the site. It is so much fun to read everyday and the swaps are really great.
It is like having friends from all over literally at the tip of you fingers on the website.
I have a friend in Lake George who tells me about her winters. They are usually worse than the ones here in Iowa and we have bad ones. Again welcome.
pasofino Posted - Aug 21 2008 : 05:55:53 AM
Hi Denise....Stony Creek is a great dead end town ( literally) about and hour from Galway. Its a little north west of Lake George. We have only lived here since April of 07....this was our first winter here, and it was a doosey. My husband was living in Ct, and I on Long Island before moving to Stony Creek, ....I lived in the Rochester area as a kid, but these winters up here are harsh in the mountains. Especially when you have livestock to take care of, breaking ice out of buckets, slipping on ice, trapezing through knee deep snow...But its Gods county, so beautiful.....so happy to be here, I wouldn't change a thing...
