Posted - Aug 13 2008 : 08:52:45 AM Ok, so I was thinking, I wonder how many of us Washington gals there are on MJF forum,,,has anyone ever tracked us? I would like to do a Map of Washington, and put stars or pins on each city where a MJF farm girl lives... so email me with you name & city, that's all, quit simple & painless. When I get all the Washington sisters pinned on the map I'll take a photo and post it. Hmmm, wonder where the majority live, N/E/W/ or S Wash.

Posted - Oct 27 2011 : 7:49:44 PM I started this thread back in 2008, with the greatest of intensions....but each time I tried to create a 'map' with all us MJF gals it just got messy... I had actually planned to cross stitch the State of WA. and put little flag pins on it... but,,,it proved a task to great... All that being said... now that Winter is almost here,, maybe I will re-visit this idea....and come up with a better plan to 'pin~point' where all us WA gals live. The trick will be photographing it! but I'll have plenty of time according to weather prediction of another long cold Winter! "Someone give me some chocolate,,,and nobody gets hurt!"... lol!

Posted - Sep 07 2011 : 09:03:00 AM Teresa Sue...we were just down for an afternoon drive...final destination Farmington. We had a late breakfast in Tekoa, at the Feeding Station (think I have that right), with a great omelet, good coffee, and a wonderful waitress from farmington, who told us about BNP, where we could buy some lentils. A great afternoon!

Posted - Sep 05 2011 : 4:19:53 PM Karin, at one time I had over 50 penpals but most of them have stopped writing over the years so I'm down to just a few. I am still in touch with two of my original penpals - in Canada and Jamaica- that I've had since 6th grade. We are coming up on 30 years in 2012! My family hosted 8 Rotary exchange students when I was a kid and I'm still in touch with all of them. My parents also hosted district exchange events so we would have weekends when there were 40-50 students from all over the world that stayed at our house. That's where I met all the exchange students. Now I'm a member of Rotary myself and work extensively with the youth exchange program at my club and district levels so I'm still meeting people from all over the world. Facebook and email has taken over where letters left off but all are great ways to stay in touch!

Cool, Marilyn!!! I also have had and met a lot of pen pals from around the world (many of them are, to this day, some of my dearest friends!) and we had a few exchange students live with us. BUT I was never organized or clever enough to do anything like you! Are you still into pen palling?

I forgot I started this thread back in 2008,,,and never got around to finishing the map, actually, i did a cross stitch of the state of Washington, but it was to small to get all the 'flag pins' to photograph... I think Alee had started a virtual map of sorts that showed where everyone lived... Maybe after I finsih up a few outher UFO (un-finished objects d'art) projects i will re-visit & re-attempt to do this map thing again... besides we now have a lot more Washington ladies to add tot he list. Happy Trails!
