Hi there, from central Indiana!

My name is Kara, I'm mama to 3 kiddos 6 & under, married to my best friend and living in a small town in East Central Indiana. I'm a country girl married to a city boy and life in a small town was our compromise

We've owned our home here for a few years now and every year it gets a little bit closer to our dream house ... this year we've planted a tree, put in a 4 x 4 raised bed garden (with major plans for branching out next year, but we welcomed a new baby in May and felt "baby steps" were important in more ways than one LOL), fenced in a children's play area in the backyard, laid pavers for a backyard patio, planted flower beds, and made some improvements to the house like putting in ceiling fans upstairs and downstairs. Not a lot, but every year we cross a few more projects off our wish list

I love to knit, am learning to sew, and my husband and I love to cook together. I'm hoping to add gardening and more DIY home cleaners, bath products, and from scratch cooking to that list, too.

We strive to live pretty naturally and frugally ... I blog about it at http://granola.typepad.com

I can't believe I haven't discovered this plan, the wonderful magazine, and books sooner! I'm hoping to learn much from you all and hope that I can be an active member here, too.

Best Wishes!
Kara

Hi Kara,
Isn't it funny that we make the list and often forget to look at how much we really have gotten accomplished.
Glad you are here to have some fun and sharing.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I'm feeling at home here already

It is funny ... it seems like it has been a slow year and then I look at my list in print and yes, I guess it does seem like some things have gotten done

Looking forward to getting to know you all better!

Glad to meet you Kara! Isn't it amazing to finally find so many women with the same interests? I had begun to give up hope of finding any kindred spirits and somehow I got onto the MaryJane's site. I've been hooked ever since. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better!

Hi Kara,
I was so happy when I found this lovely place through my chac offer that came in the mail. I am waiting to get my first magazine and my sisterhood kit. I'm homebound so this is great for me. Most of my friends work and are busy running up and down the road.

Welcome to the forum, Kara!

Wow! You got a lot done, especially with 3 kids that young and a very new one! This forum has lots to offer and you sound like "our kind" of gal! Can't wait to get to know you more! I have an 18 month old daughter! Aren't kids such a blast? I have so much fun with my little girl. Sure, there are trying times occasionally, but overall they are such a light in life!
