Hi yall! I am a fargirl at heart with dreams of owning my own little farm with chickens and my own business. Currently, I am teaching a K-2 Autism classroom here in Iowa. It is a hoot, all boys. My mom sort of encouraged me to sign up. She said everyone is so awesome! Besides teaching, I make jewelry, have since I was eight. I figured since I loved wearing it, I better start making it to support my habit. I love chopping wood(sounds strange, but it is very therapeutic!) and gardening. One of my favorite gardening activities is composting. Free dirt! I have an absolutely fabulous son named Sam, named after my mom, Sam (AKA Sandra Licher). I love to read, just about everything. Right now I am reading a biography about Fidel Castro. I am really looking forward to chatting, and I am glad I signed up!

What a warm welcome! I just am blown away by the great responses from all of you. My mom is really cool and very talented. I know the hardest part about belonging will be what to talk about! I will certainly have questions! Thanks again!

Welcome Amy, glad you signed up too. I taught elementary school for 29 years and have now been retired for 7 years. I always loved teaching, especially when the children wanted to be "teachable"--know what I mean!!

Welcome, Amy! You're going to love it here. You're the first person I've heard say composting was their thing about gardening. It is a gardener's gold!

God bless - Karen
