My name is Karen and I'm married to my best friend, Robbie. We live about an hour from St. Louis in a house on five acres that we inherited from my parents. I picked up MaryJane's magazine a few weeks ago! It brought back so many memories of my childhood. I was raised on a farm and loved it. The only animals we have right now are a 64-lb lab mutt named Gus, three cats - Smudge, Tux and Chessie - and an outdoor cat, Leo, that adopted us. (She's gifted us with two more kittens but we rarely see them so they have no names yet.) I like to sew, read, crochet and turn trash to treasure. I haven't done much of any of these (except read) but the magazine has rekindled the flame. I also have a flower and herb garden that I started this year. It's small but it brings me joy. Robbie and I love the simple life although we're not always living it. It's a continual process.

I really am excited to be here (although it's taken me awhile to work up the nerve to put out a post).

Thanks to all of you who have posted in the forums. I've learned and lot and hope to learn more as we get to know each other.

God bless -

Karen

Welcome Karen,
I too am a little intimidated with posting. After reading about all the wonderful things these farm girls do I feel insignificant, but I'm here to try harder and learn as much as I can. You too will learn a lot here at MJF.
