Posted - Jul 30 2008 : 07:23:13 AM my name is debbie woodruff. i have a great husband, two grown kids, five grandkids, a cat named addie-grace, generations of dustbunnies. aprons are worn here. while growing up i was a real farmgirl, but have been in the city for many years. my acreage is now a little more than a postage stamp. it's true that being a farmgirl is a condition of the heart...i've tried to stay true to the ideals that i learned while growing up, just adapting simple for where we were at the time. i have herded cows, been spurred by a rooster, driven a tractor to move irrigation pipes, helped can quarts upon of garden bounty, and more than once spent hours in a tree waiting for the bulls to leave so i could get through the field to home.i love watching God's creatures and have stories to share as we go along. i love to read and sew. i have come to know that contentment disappears when one strays to far from simple. walking with God, family, friends, simple pleasures, simple food are my goals, with these to be content. i have enjoyed reading your posts for awhile now and look forward to joining in. thank you for sharing this space...debbie

Posted - Aug 22 2008 : 12:04:03 PM Hi, Debbie! Welcome and hope you're finding yourself at home here. (Can't imagine why you wouldn't - everyone's so friendly) Know what you mean about watching God's creatures. We were "adopted" by three deer last fall. I haven't seen deer near our house since a few years after my parents built it in '68. They're around quite often now and have added a little fawn to the crew. Was a bit concerned about how our garden would fare with them but they're left everything alone - this year, anyway!
