Hi! My name is Marcy and I live in northern Indiana. I am married with five kids. I am starting my own mini farm on a small lot. I have my first garden this year (which- I've been told- is the best looking in this little town), I have four hens, a rabbit, a dog, cats and am purchasing my first lamb.

I am looking forward to sharing with other farmgirls like me!

Welcome Marcy Jo, sounds like you are off to a good start. Nothing like having the best looking garden in town!!! Mine has been the cleanest, but I noticed this morning those little green heads of grass and weeds starting to peek through the ground after the 1/2" of rain we got yesterday. Will have to get the tiller back out along with the hoe!! Good luck with your mini farm.

Hi Marcy
Welcome to the site.
I live in Louisiana. I have 7 cats and 1 dog. I love animals. I also helped my sweetie (husband) with the garden this year. However, the first green tomatoe wormy-thing did it for me. Grossssss---- I haven't seen any of those gross things on the okra plants. Ha Ha. Have a great and happy day.

Hi Marci! Welcome from SW Idaho!! You sound like you fit right in!!

You can take the farmer's daughter off the farm but you can't take the farm out of the farmer's daughter!!

Hey there Marcy! I remember your small town as I recall that it is just down the road from Shipshewana. We go up there all the time to the Amish market. Things sure have changed up there over the years.

Welcome to the board from a neighbor down south in Kentucky!

Welcome Marcy... 5 children will definately keep you young...and make great helpers in the garden. My 3 kids hated the farm life when they were growing up. BUT all 3 appreciate the Simplicity and values they learned and are passing on all those traits to their own children.. They all love gardening today.. funny how that happened!

Life situations and circumstances change quickly, often without notice... Take each challenge with a positive attitude.
