Just wanted to say hello! I'm new here and still learning my way around.

I'm Mandi and I'm currently living in Nashville, TN, but I'm originally from Erie, PA (and hope to move back there soon).

I was "introduced" to this site by Miss Violet of the Lime 'n Violet podcast, when she started the "Plurkette Hencricle" at http://www.moderngypsy.com/farmgirl/]. The whole idea just really spoke to my inner farmgirl and so I ordered MaryJane's Ideabook, Cookbook, Lifebook and it should be here today :)

Anyway, can't wait to make new friends and learn new things! :) Take care, ya'll.

Well I'll be dang Mandi - that's too neat that you are from the "land of Johnny Cash". :) It has grown up over the years there. I remember going to Twitty City when it was still that. We went to the new place, but it isn't the same without seeing Conway waving outside the front door at fans.

I still keep a little TN with me as I only listen to WSM radio, including the Opry shows.

Welcome to the board. :)

Hi Mandi:
I'm still here, too. Joined about two weeks ago, and, yes, it takes a while to learn the site. I have tried knitting, to no avail. It's like I have six sets of hands!! I can crochet. I can crochet extra fast when I have had three cups of coffee. I live in Louisiana.
Take care.

Howdy and Welcome from SW Idaho! This is a great place to come and spend a little time with some great ladies!

You can take the farmer's daughter off the farm but you can't take the farm out of the farmer's daughter!!

Hey Mandi!! You're going to love Mary Jane's book. I am almost finished reading mine. I usually don't re-read books, but this one... Oh yeah I will read it and read it and read it.... It's great to see you here!

Hi there Mandi! I'm Jessica from up in Kentucky. How in the world did I miss your post?? Goodness! You are in my favorite city - Nashville. We were just down there last month visiting friends. I love going down to the Opry as well as other things to do in town. :) It's been a while since I've been to the flea market down there though. We've been over to Johnny Cash's house in Hendersonville a few years ago and then went over last month to see what was left after the fire they had a few months ago.

Welcome to the board and our farmgirl family :)

Gosh, thanks everyone for the warm welcome! :)

In response to Kathie ("Moving BACK to PA?"):
I sure hope so. I really do love it here in Tennessee. It's given me a chance to get out on my own and learn a lot about myself, not to mention meeting lots of wonderful people who have really touched me. But Erie will always be "home" for me and I can't wait to get back there.

I also have some relatives who have farms back home (mostly pigs and beef cattle) and I'm hoping they can help us get started with our farm (along with all the help here on the forum!)

Welcome Mandi! I love Nashville, my daughter lived there for a while until she got home sick. You will enjoy this forum so much. Everyone is so helpful and sweet. My highlight is to come on this site everyday when I get home. Love it here!

Hi Amanda. I looked at the "Henhouse" for just a few seconds. Want to get back to it when I have more time. Sounds like fun. I know you'll like it here.
I am a retired elementary teacher. I have a big vegetable garden, some fruit trees, a couple of hens and a couple of roosters. My hubby and I have lots and lots of beef cows and calves. He also raises tobacco, hay and soybeans.
I've found so much useful information here. You'll love it I'm sure.
