Hi, everyone,

I've been lurking for a little while, and thought I'd finally join in and post along with the rest of you farmgirls. :) As you can see, I'm from Houston, Texas, am 28 years old, married, no kids (right now), and am in the city for now, but grew up around horses (adore them!) and goats, dogs and cats.. I am hoping to eventually have just a little farm with horses, goats, and chickens ..and foremost an organic garden. My family is looking at some property right outside of houston and hopefully we'll be able to have a home and have my dream there. We'll see! In the mean-time, I will continue planning, learning, and talking to you all! If there are any others in this area, I'd love to find some friends. I'll be writing more soon! Thank you all and have a beautiful weekend!

I have been to Kentucky once, but basically just drove through it. Now there's a place for a beautiful farm! I loved your state! There is so much of Texas to see, so definitely come back sometime and visit and take your time. :) The Riverwalk is very neat though. I love going there. ~~ Well, better now than ever to start getting info, right!! lol!

Welcome Brooke, I live in south central Kentucky. I have been to Texas once on a school trip. We visited the Alamo and the River Walk. I would like to come back sometime and not be so rushed. Have you ever been to Kentucky? I have lived on a farm all my married life (39 years) as well as the first 5 years of my life (which I really don't remember much of!!!) THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE THE FARM :) Maybe by the time you get yours you will have gotten all kinds of information and advice from all these wonderful farmgirls.
Have a great weekend.

I do find it funny how when you learn something in the past -- about horses maybe (for me) -- it doesn't quite ever leave you -- and it's been years for me. Kinda like riding a bike or something! Is this the same for you girls? :)

Welcome Brooke!! You will just love it here....everyone is so helpful and nice.
My sister used to live in Houston (well, The Woodlands to be exact) for couple years, but I never did get to go visit her there. That will be so cool if you can get your little dream farm. Sounds like you are doing the right things while waiting!!
I am pretty sure we have Houston gals here. Anyway...welcome to you...I am glad you found us!
