Hi everyone, I am so thrilled to have found Mary Janes Farm! I thought it was just me! I grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis and spent summers at my grandma's learning to can, bake bread, crochet and sew..just all the good farmgirl stuff. I am mad about antiques and we have lots of horses too. My husband died a few years ago and now our family consists of just me and my son. I decided that a tarmac yard was no way for a boy to grow up, so I gave up my fairly good paying job and bought a few acres in north Georgia with a sweet old 40's gambrel roof barn. There is a lot I dont know how to do yet, but if its gonna get done, I am going to have to learn. So I look forward to learning from all you experienced farmgirls!

Hi Sarah,
Welcome to the group. I would love to see photos of your barn. My house has the same type of roof. Can't wait to hear more about your farm.

Hi, Sarah! Glad to have you. If you've gotta learn, this is the best place to ask how! There are some really smart and talented farmgirls on this sight! I had to chuckle, though, when I saw your town. The closest town to us is Ringgold, Louisiana. Too bad you aren't just 20 minutes down the road, instead of three states over! Looking forward to visiting with you more often on the site, though!!

Sarah, Good for you. Please share pictures of the barn. I love old barns, and so many have been left to Mother Nature.

A big warm welcome to you Sarah! You will have to take some pictures of your 40 acres and share. Sounds like you are a good Mother and learned a lot from your Grandmother. It is funny but most of what I learned was from my grandmother also. Looking forward to getting to know you!

Welcoe, Sarah. You're up near Tennessee, right? North Georgia is a beautiful spot, that's for sure. You certainly have the farmgirl spirit!
