Posted - Jun 02 2008 : 12:02:19 PM Hi, My name is Rie...I live in upstate NY with my dh. We have 6 children but they are all grown, only one is still living at home while going to college.
We raise beef cows and then pigs in the summer months, we used to be a dairy farm, but dh got tired of milking cows after 30 years of it.
I keep a very large organic vegetable garden and love to can or freeze most everything out of it. I enjoy quilting, crocheting, cross stitch and reading.
I look forward to making new friends here!! |

Posted - Jun 09 2008 : 4:46:03 PM Nice to have you here!!! I always have pictured New York being one big city with no trees or grass, but I am glad to know that there are Farmgirls there too! I don't get out of my little corner of the world too much so maybe I need to travel more huh? :)
Fresh and creative projects popping up on my blog daily! Stop by and check out what I'm up to today!

This is the first year that I have done potatoes....something tells me that I am not going to enjoy the bug part of it!!

Welcome, Rie, from a central Kentucky farm girl. I have been "chopping out" my garden this evening after the sun was way down and it had cooled off some. It looks pretty good--a few potato bugs. Do you raise potatoes? If so, what do you do for the bugs?
