Good day ladies. This is my first time in a chat room, but how can I resist talking to people who can and garden and care about country things. I am lucky to be married to and live on a ranch with my DH. We are the 4th generation of his family to live on this little cow outfit. The ranch is very isolated, about 15 miles from town, and a mile to the nearest neighbor. It is on the side of a mountain, and was a wonderful place to raise our daughters. They grew up to be my Amazon girls. They are hard working strong women. I am so proud of them. Now my grandson, who is 9, is planning his future on this place. I am canning peaches today, froze corn last week, and plan on applesauce later this week. I put up 100's of jars of jam each year to give as Christmas presents. In between canning, we put up hay and take care of cows. The cows are all home from the mountain, and in the hay fields. I also have a home business making a selling western accessories, wildrags, and clothing for Cowboy Action Shooters. I have a great life.

Greetings from the morning side of the hill.

Sharon, that is a great idea, but I'm afraid that people would think we have horses, and as to date we don't. I also like your tag line, its kind of like "when life gives you lemonades". Tell me about your farm!

life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and
screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Gee, Gracie, I think you should incorporate your tag line (which is WONDERFUL, by the way) into the name of your place....like " What-A-Ride Ranch"
Welcome,
Sharon

I hope I am posting this in the correct place. I posted it yesterday and can't remember where. Anyone else have that problem?(the remembering part) We are in the process of acquiring 30 acres in addition to the 5 we already own. I am in desperate need of a name and I am coming up with nothing. We have alot of natural springs, oak trees, and woods. We have 2 daughters, 1 dog and 2 cats. Everyone likes to come to our house for parties because it truly is a beautiful place. My main goal is to make sure that everyone feels at home as soon as they enter. Please help with the name!!
