Hi Ya'll,
I'm new to this list and new to any sort of chat forum. I am not very computer literate so I'll do my best. I already messed up by asking a question before introducing myself.
My family and I have moved to Idaho from Arizona. Quite a change for us. We were from the PHX area and it has 3X the population of the whole state of Idaho!!! Small town life is different. Not sure if I like it or not yet. We are enjoying the seasons...love the snow so far. We've only been here 3 years after 30+ years in AZ.
My husband and I have 3 daughters who are quickly growing up and moving out. We have home schooled them all and one is away to college.
I am a farmgirl-wanna-be. Farming is in my family, but unfortunately does not pass on in the genes. I have small dreams of a little bit of land for chickens, a garden and maybe a milking cow, though everyone says you are tied to home if you have one.
I dabble in a little bit of everything and probably do nothing particularly well, but I like to cross stitch and scrap book. I garden a little, but not very well and have a lot of learn. Hopefully, I will learn a lot here.

Hey Julia, My brother just moved to Eugene, OR from AZ. He loves it!!! He is trying to get us to come there. They are just starting their home schooling journey.

OK my two girls have just decided they want to name the farm "RUN A MUCK" and here I am trying to keep it nice and welcoming and serene!!!! I like the Sideways Grace and that led me to Graceful Oaks. This is so much harder than I expected. We are forming an LLC with this so the name will follow me always.

No I did not make it up and I am always looking for stuff like that to keep me sane and on the right track. Isn't it a great one!!! Wine and chocolate-----does it get any better!!!!

I printed the tag line out in very small print and taped it to the back of my cell phone. I think I have that line posted everywhere. Sometimes we forget what really matters.

I too asked a question before introducing myself. But I am happy to say that I think I am getting the hang of this. We are in the process of adding 30 acres to the 5 we already have. It was a matter of buying it or having a developer buy it. The rest of the land around us is secure and we love our 5 acres so........ I am in desperate need of a name for our farm. We have 2 daughters, 2 cats, and 1 dog. Everyone loves to come to our house for parties, it is very serene and soothing, we have put lots of love into our landscape and home, and will do the same with the additional 30 acres. I would like to come up with a name that makes you want to stay and stay (but only in your mind)

HI Dawndi! Welcome on board. I am another Julia, in Oregon, who has three daughters. One is married the other two are still at home, and I am still homeschooling our youngest.
My brother and his famliy just moved from Mesa to Boise this summer. They had been in AZ for about 11 years. So see we are all famliy here!

Welcome to the group. Don't worry about "messing up". This is a very easy crowd to be a part of...it only took me one day to feel right at home. I bet you will, too. I have two sons who are 21 (twins) and on their own now, so I know what you are going through. Read all the ideas on this site and I promise you will have a DECORATED nest, not an EMPTY one! |

Welcome Dawndi-Bird. I have three daughters who are quickly leaving the nest as well. Oh the conflicting emotions I feel - happy they are growing up to be independent, self-sufficient women but DARN, wish it hadn't gone so fast! I have a couple of acres and just don't know what to do with it! So I've been reading and listening and hope to find my passion soon!
