Posted - Sep 13 2005 : 7:13:28 PM Hi all - I just discovered this site after reading about Mary Jane in an issue of Country Living. My friends all kid me that I am a farmer at heart because of the size of my gardens, green thumb and the fact that I would rather be in the dirt then anywhere else. My grandparents were all farmers but I was raised in the city. It took my child to reintroduce me to the land. After he was born city life just did not look as good. Added to that was his need to be in the country all the time. After spending a few years driving him out to my parents country home every weekend my husband and I moved. That is when my grandparents spirit moved me to play in the dirt and I have been having a grand ol'time since then. I love reading all your comments - I think I will find lots of kindred souls here. |

Posted - Sep 14 2005 : 3:48:45 PM Thanks all - just got home from work and ran right to my computer to check my messages. I have already learned something new from the garden forum about a mystery insect in my garden. What a great site! |

Posted - Sep 13 2005 : 10:53:41 PM Welcome Danelle! I love playing in the dirt too. Dirt and manure -- two of my favorite things! Sounds like you have a lovely garden.

Posted - Sep 13 2005 : 7:42:02 PM Welcome Danelle! Glad to have you on board. I would rather be in the dirt myself. I am always barefoot so my feet are always very dirty. It seems to me to be a badge of honor :) My grandparents were farmers as well and made a loasting impresstion on me. We don't have farm but our double lot in town works well for now. See 'round the site! Simply, Julia
