Hello! I'm actually not new here, I love Mary Jane's books and this forum, but I've never posted before.
I live in Oklahoma. My husband and I recently moved to a small town and downsized (a lot!) It's great. We have a cute little "cottage style home" with a large yard with wonderful shade trees and good soil for gardening. That's not common in Oklahoma. I was able to quit my full time job and now am doing more of the things I love! Sewing, quilting, crafting & creating, bread making, even teaching sewing classes, and looking forward to gardening again.
I'm also looking forward to getting to know some of you wonderful ladies on this forum.

Ruby,
Have you checked Etsy to see if there are any rules about selling those? Etsy is easy to do and there seems to be a lot of traffic on it.

Hi! Cowgirlmama,
There really is a freedom in getting rid of "stuff"!! I am looking forward to this summer - enjoying our yard and doing a little gardening, instead of mowing a lot of useless acreage.
Sounds like you have found that freedom, too! Enjoy today, for it will not come again!

Hello again to everyone
I am looking forward to getting to know more of you also and glad you like my website. I also have a question for anyone. I have several Dept 56 village from about 25 years ago and never bring them out and would like to sell them. Anyone have any suggestions on how to sell them, other than Ebay???
Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi Cathy and welcome! My husband and I also downsized 11 years ago-after our youngest graduated from high school. We made our dream move to the country and built a small house. My husband has since retired and I have applied to graduate school to pursue my love of history. At this point in our lives we truly do realize the "stuff" is not important. Enjoy!

Hi! Cathy Cobblestone,
Thank you for your warm welcome!! I love your blog and website! and I LOVE red, too - imagine that :)
Those pincushions sure do keep me busy on line and off. Shhhh! If you sneak over to my etsy shop www.auntdaisyscottage.etsy.com I think there is still a red one for sale, if not I have enough of that pretty red calico and poka dot fabrics to make a few more. I do make those to order, 3-tier, 2 tier, and mini, in any como you like. Just asked if you're interested.
Thanks, and I am excited about getting to know all of you ladies here!

Welcome Cathy - you and Ruby may have a lot in common. I think she may be close to the area of Wisconsin you were in. Anyway, I hope you have as much fun on this site as we all do!

Thank you, Lainey! I'm new to blogging too, but I do have one of those going so I guess I'll that down here too. Those pincushion are addictive to make! Fun stuff! But then I get behind with filling orders for my potato bags, sooo I don't have many pincushions up for sale yet, but I'll get there.

Ruby,
Thank you for your warm welcome! When my children were at home and still growing up I was blessed with being able to raise them in my home state, Wisconsin, in a small town close to where there is 2 Amish communities. A lot of the families belonged to our food co-op and we made some very wonderful friends there. I homeschooled my children using a curriculum from a Mennonite publisher - Rod & Staff.
Your website made me homesick! :) I also LOVE Minnesota.
