Hello. I live in Northern Nevada. Anyone in my neighborhood? I raise chickens and boys and plan to get a mustang this summer, and start an organic garden.
Perhaps few people are leaving messages as they are confused by the process. One of my boys had to show me!
Are there instructions somewhere? This is a great idea, perhaps we can meet other farmgirls in our own areas.

Love,
Nylene

Hi Jamaal,
Yes, they make noise. Lots of noise. I have 2. I have them because a neighbor asked if I wanted some and I naively said yes.

They warn the chickens of impending doom...and then some (birds of prey flyovers, approaching dog, approaching farmer, approaching food, approaching egg collector...). You get the picture? If you don't mind noise, you won't mind guineas. Be sure you live far enough away from potentially complaining neighbors.

I too am beginning an organic garden this year. I have a son who is in college and thinks organic gardnening is for weirdos. Frankly so do most of the folks where I live. I too would like to have some chickens. I'm not big on eggs and I"m not sure I could slaughter them but, I always enjoyed watching them when I was young. I;d like to have some guinas too. I"m told they eat the bad bugs off your plants. And they skwak like guard dogs when someone comes near your home. I'm glad to have a forum to talke to other like minded folks.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Mary Janes Farm! This is my favorite publication and website. I envy you getting to raise chickens. I collect hens and roosters in my kitchen.

I live in Illinois and we live in the mist of the great midwestern farmland.

Keep posting!
