Posted - Jan 30 2008 : 11:22:00 AM Well, it's a shame you didn't find us before, you would not have been so lonely, that's for sure. But, we're glad you are here now! We moved to Michigan, then moved again to Virginia, halfway through my high school years. This one stuck; I don't think I will ever leave this Commonwealth!

Posted - Jan 30 2008 : 08:01:05 AM Hi all, that's funny, my folks called me Meri for years. It's rare to meet another Meri.
As for my family. My husband is an Army reservist so usually he's here and all is well. We are just coming off an 18 month deployment which was an adventure to say the least. Now we're getting back into the corporate mode which is difficult for him to readjust to, but we'll get through it.
I'm in the western suburbs of Chicago. right at 294 and Roosevelt Rd. I know just where Willow Rd. is though, about 40 minutes from here.
As for interests, I love sewing, gardening and I'm currently immersed in wool spinning and felting. Who knew I'd have so much fun with fiber?!?!
We've not been in Chicagoland for long. We'd only been here for 6 months before my husband got called up. Knowing so few people was lonely while he was gone, but I'm good at entertaining myself so I've had a million projects going at once.
We've been talking about abandoning the corporate lifestyle and buying acerage in the not too distant future. We're just debating where and when. Leaping away from the safetynet has proven to be both thrilling and terrifying at the same time.
Looking forward to getting to know you all.

I'm just a bit northwest of Chicago, by the way. Kinda midway between Edens and Tristate and north of Willow Rd. Are you nearby?
