Posted - Aug 22 2005 : 2:17:05 PM Hello ladies, I actually joined awhile ago and then never came back to check out the forums. I am now reading Mary Jane's book and am really enjoying it. I asked my MIL to get it for me for my birthday and bless her heart, she did.
I have a batch of Mary's sourdough starter sitting on my counter, smelling lovely
Look forward to meeting all of you :) |

Posted - Aug 22 2005 : 2:39:31 PM Hello & welcome! I'm pretty new myself........ and I already love it. What part of Ohio are you from? I lived for quite some time (too long, really) in Cincinnati. Have spent the last 12 years in the SF Bay area. Coincidently, just this AM, I did some research on Gambier/Mt. Vernon area. I'm looking to move from California, & am considering a return to the midwest. (Either there or southwest Wa./ northcentral Or.) Actually, I've never been to Gambier area, but I remember 10 years ago that a friend had gone to school there, & loved it. At least it is affordable - unlike most anything halfway decent in California. What I miss most from the midwest: summer thunder storms, lightning bugs, warm evenings, the way the scent of flowers drifts on the moist, evening air. And decent corn & peaches! |
