Well, here goes.

I go by Marie. I'm the punkrock-wannabe-farmgirl daughter of the youngest of a family of 9 Dutch Immigrant farmers, but my mom was the baby, and never had to do a lick of work, so...

May I present to you the Second Generation Dutch-American Punk-rock City Girl (Farmgirl at heart)!

A few of my dichotomous hobbies, considering being a punk-rock city chick:
Knitting, spinning, weaving, canning, cooking, sewing, living in the city, driving my Jeep to the Farmers Market (alas, only seasonal *sniffle*), and getting on my darling bofriend's case about not eating organic foods instead of Jack-in-the-Box...

I'm sure it will be my pleasure to meet all of you ladies, and I might have a few things to teach you, myself.

Umm, Marie, if you wanna see a punk-rock girl with the freaky hair to match, who has an online magazine for people just like you (and me!) click the link at the bottom

We're definitely not as scarce as you think, I think the farmgirl notion defies borders and it's getting wayyyy back to simplicity.

PS...I'm a farmer's market addict, too!

Heya Marie--
I used to be a punk rock girl, but now I'm just "me" and I dig it! Welcome to the forum and enjoy yourself...I've learned alot from these ladies and I'm grateful. Also, can't be the friendships!!!!

My cool rock and roll husband also eats the equivalent of Jack in the Box, but LOOKS like he eats vegan food. Grr. I do what I can do with him!

Hi N Marie!

Hmm- are we twins that got seperated at birth? LOL I love punk music. It is all my husband will listen to. Welcome to the forums! Isn't it great how being a farmgirl shatters a lot of those traditional sterotypes?

Hi, Marie. Welcome to the forum. We may be a generation apart, but we have one big thing in common. I'm often on my darling son's case about eating organic and staying away from.....(insert fast food name here)! LOL!
