Posted - Jun 06 2007 : 8:20:23 PM Hi I'm Cindy from the Portland area and I've been a lurker for a bit but I'm jumping in with both feet. I live with my hubby of 30 years on the 18th and four kids or "young adults" as they prefer, though dad still does their taxes for them I quit my crazy job a year ago and LOVE my life now, I have time which is so very precious. But having all that time doesn't mean that I get everything done I can't wait to learn, share and giggle with you gals. Blessings to you and yours, Cindy |

Posted - Jun 07 2007 : 7:55:34 PM I loved it I opened my email to a bunch of welcomes! I think I'm going to like it here. About "retirement" it is a blessing though it's been a major financial adjustment, my hubbie has been awesome about it. A few times I asked if I should go back and he wants me home - ya got to love him. Runbikegrrl you asked about my passions - funny I don't think any of my friends have asked me that question before - well besides faith & family is homey things like embrodiery - anything with neddles basiclly I just aquired a treddle machine it needs a bit of work but I already have projects piled next to it. My flowers and my tiny garden (for this year) We're spiffing up the flower beds, weeding, perfecting the fire pit (the boys favorite)and some more weeding. I love it. I'm becoming a "tree hugger" as I've been called more likely into simplicity, living green, living kindly and s-l-o-w-i-n-g down this crazy life we're in. I just bought a retro bike off of Craigslist, do you have that in your neck of the woods - it's pretty cool. My kids are in and out - the girls are 27 & 24 oldest is in grad school - will be a HS english teacher in Dec - brave girl and Miss 24 left in April for Botswana to work for the Peace Corp for two years. This is such an adjustment for me sort of a mini empty nest break down - my girls are so very special - and yes you never stop worring. My boys are 21 & 17 Mr. artistic 21 is "finding himself" working staying at home, making long boards (they are awesome). Mr. 17 is now offically a senior in HS today was his last day of school. So now I have a house of boys, which sends my husband into his second childhood. So this is me in a nutshell from the nut house. Thanks again for the wonderful welcome. Cindy |
