Hi Ladies!

I had a few craft brainstorms lately and I thought perhaps we could start some new Farmgirl Chapter projects. Please let me know what you think. Would you be interested in participating? Comments and Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

My first idea was to make cloth diapers for those volunteer agencies that help struggling parents. I called one such agency here in Moscow to see if there was a need for cloth diapers. The advocate that I spoke with said that people request cloth diapers all the time and they just don’t have the resources to be able to fill all the requests.

I have a very easy pattern for pre-fold diapers that can be made from 100% cotton flannel. Would any of you ladies be interested in starting a Chapter Project with me to help struggling moms in your area to diaper their children in a more natural way than disposable diapers?

My second idea was sewing quilts or making blankets for our local Victims of Violence and/or local homeless shelters. I spoke with an advocate of our local Victims of Violence who said that they can always use blankets and quilts. If they don’t need them at the shelter they put them in the “moving out” packages that they give to the victims. Most often the victims have little to nothing when they come to the shelter and things like blankets, linens and clothes go a long way in helping them re-establish a productive life after they leave the shelter.

Please let me know what you think of these two ideas!

Thanks!

Alee

Hi Denise-

That would be wonderful! I will post a link to a free pattern. Would you like to make them for your area? I would be willing to make some calls to find somewhere close to you where you could donate.

Oh, Alee - I just LOVE both of those ideas. SO much love goes into the things we make for people - I just know that what you choose as a project will be perfect.

XOXO, Libbie
