I am going to Sheepfest 2007 in Denmark,ME on April 21. It is a day event that will have sheep, shearing, food and various events. I thought I'd find out if anyone nearby would like to go and join the festivities and enjoy a little farmgirl fun.

Birdi, the one in Sept. in Vermont is in Essex Junction. It used to be in Killington in Oct. but I guess it outgrew that space and now its in Sept. due to the weather. Its great, I love it so much.

I figured as much. And michele, I will have to check on the one in Sept. June 9-10, I think there is a fiber frolic festival on the coast here in Maine.. All things fiber and many events. Its a yearly event and with any luck, I will get to that one as well. That one has spinning classes and judging and project making..A very full w/e of events. It may be a difficult time for me then and even though this one is smaller...at least I will be able to attend. I'm very excited, and will take lots of pics.

Sorry Birdi, but that would be more than 6 hours of driving (one way) all alone.
I will be there with you in spirit, so enjoy, and take pictures please...

MJ, I'd love for you to be able to join me..it would be great to meet a farmgirl and have some fun! Now, the bad news...I am 2 hrs from Bangor...and and hour for me to get to sheepfest...it is on the NH border in Denmark,ME. It would be a very long trip for you, but if you really were up for it...maybe we can make arrangements or something.

Hey Birdi, how far is it from Bangor ME? I am in Nova Scotia, but was in NewBrunswick for more than 20 years, and Bangor is only about 4 hours.
I would be willing to go for a drive. Bringing home a sheep in a station wagon would be up my alley....I have brought home (to FIL) five baby cows in hubby's car. Not all at the same time, but whenever I leave the house, he asks if I am going to be picking up any livestock.
I have brought home goats, chickens, and turkeys as well (in a pet carrier)

Ohh yes,Libbie! I am so excited. I will probably be going alone as crowds are not hubbys cup of tea. I told him, its a good thing they don't sell them at this festival or I might have a lamb coming home with me. I drive a station wagon and its an hour away...could be an interesting ride. Who knows. Could happen! I plan on taking pictures because I can't go anywhere or do anything without the camera. I'll post after its over.

This sounds like SUCH my cup of tea - but I'm a country away here in Utah. Birdi - you'll have to give a report when you return! What fun!

XOXO, Libbie
