Hi All,

This is a brand new group for Chicago (and the surrounding suburbs). I probably won't have any get togethers or events planned until after I graduate in June, but please feel free to join. We can spend the time discussing our interests and things we'd like to do together. :-)

Did I ever send you my info?

XOXO, Libbie

Count Me in. I am in Prospect Hts, in the Northwest Suburbs. I also have reached out to "farmgirls" in Elmhurst and Glenview, who might be interested, trying to get a chapter going in the NW suburbs.

I would love to help with organizing. I so need to interact with a group of like-minded women.

I wasn't born in a barn, but I was raised in one.

Hi Ladies, just wanted to let everyone know I set up a Yahoo Group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/chicagourbanfarmgirls/. There's a poll up asking for a preferred date in June for our first get together, so don't be shy! :-) Also, for those that would like to recieve a new member kit, please email me your postal address. Kaylyn, yours will be in the mail this weekend (sorry it's going out so late!).

Greetings everyone. I got my chapter kit in the mail today and there are some great things I'd like to share with our charter members-- a chapter membership certificate, friendship cards and MJF bumper sticker (so we can all show off our farmgirl pride). I'll stick these in the mail to everyone as soon as you guys email me (pretty please) your mailing addresses. These are our charter members:

Vintage Chica (Eren) of Kenosha
Kim of Sycamore
City Chick (Deb) of Chicago
Vintage Redhead (Kaylyn) of St. Charles
DDMashayeki (Dawn) of Homer Glen

(And of course as Kathy has mentioned, the NW Indiana farmgirls are welcome to join us anytime!)

The chapter kit also included some sample journal pages that were pretty neat. I think we should start a chapter journal soon as well.

Also, I think it would be neat for everyone to head over the blog at http://chicagourbanfarmgirls.wordpress.com and write up a short introduction in the Farmgirl Bios section-- who you are, what your interests are, etc. Just email me an email address when you let me know your mailing address. With the email address I can add you as a user on the blog so you can post entries also. Needless to say, I won't be using your mailing or email addresses for anything other than chapter communications. :-)

I'm thinking our chapter should have some sort of monthly exchange project. I think it would be a neat way to keep in touch. It could be like a round-robin care package, or a partner exchange. We could pick a theme for each month-- for example a seed exchange, recipe exchange or chapter cookbook, scrap book page exchange, or something. What does everyone think?

NW Indiana isn't too far away, and I know there are a few of us down here--maybe we could come up for a get together too!

As I am basically a chapter of 1, let me know when you have meetings. We can get together!

Okay, so I'm really excited. I really like Wordpress for my Apartment Farm blog, so I decided to put up a blog the Chicago Urban Farmgirls. Thought it would be a neat spot to keep track of events, projects and member news. All chapter members will be added as users to the blog so everyone can make posts to it, just let me know if you'd like the ability to do it. Oh, it's at http://chicagourbanfarmgirls.wordpress.com
